The Measuring Change tool is a set of web-based resources that support schools and early childhood centres to reflect on their environmental actions and monitor the outcomes of these actions over time. The tool includes data collection methods and worksheets as well as teacher support activities to do pre and post audit.

Understanding and measuring the changes that occur when we take action is a key part of the Enviroschools Action Learning Cycle.  Measuring Change resources are based around some of the theme areas in the Enviroschools Programme - Zero Waste, Energy!Living Landscapes and Water of Life .

The resources on this site were orginally developed in 2008 through a partnership between:

• The Enviroschools Foundation (now Toimata Foundation)

• Leigh Steel, Teacher Fellow from Pigeon Mountain Primary School

• The Royal Society of NZ, and

• Auckland Regional Council

Toimata Foundation thanks the following Enviroschools for their input into these resources - Beachlands School, Kristin Middle School, Laingholm Primary, Meadowbank School, Papakura Normal School, Pigeon Mountain Primary School, St James Kindergarten, Verran School.

We also thank the Eco Matters Environment Trust and Waste Not Consulting for their input into the original development, and the many dedicated Enviroschools Facilitators who have contributed to the ongoing development of Measuring Change.

Finally thanks to the Ministry of Education who funded the orginal development of this tool in 2008 and to the Ministry for the Environment's Waste Minimisation Fund for supporting the upgrades to the tool in 2012.
